Veterans on Patrol founder arrested for trespassing

Posted: Updated:

Pima County Deputies say they have arrested a man who posted a series of viral videos about child sex trafficking in Tucson.

Deputies say Michael Lewis Arthur Meyer was arrested Sunday on felony trespassing charges.

Officials say the charges, center around a video that shows Meyer and others searching through a house in Pima County.

"Detectives were able to develop probably cause for the criminal first degree trespassing through videos that were actually posted onto social media, so that proved to be very helpful in making that arrest," said Marissa Hernandez with the Pima County Sheriff's Department

Deputies say the owner of the home saw the video and called authorities.

News 4 Tucson wasn't able to speak with Meyer.

However, Meyer posted a statement on facebook saying "I won't go into the obvious obstruction tactics now being deployed by a coward Sheriff and obviously corrupt Mayor. Nor will I stop doing what they don't want me to do."

Deputies say they started investigating Meyer in early June and were getting ready to request a warrant for him when they found him while responding to an unrelated call.

Earlier this year Meyer posted a series of videos claiming he found a child sex camp in Tucson.

Tucson police investigated Meyer's claims, but ultimately found no evidence supporting them.

Deputies say Meyer is being looked at in connection with several other open investigations.

"The Sheriff's Department is currently looking at other things and complaints that we have received in regards to Veterans on Patrol at this time," said Hernandez.
