Vail - The Vail School District Governing Board met this evening to vote on salary increases for teachers as a result of the Red for Ed movement.

The proposal that was recommended by the superintendent is to give teachers a 10 percent salary increase and to give all other employees a four percent increase.

"The state has a definition of a teacher, Vail has a slightly broader definition of a teacher. basically those buckets of people get the 10 percent increase and then everyone else is getting a 4 percent is the recommendation," said Jon Aitken.

The board voted unanimously to approve the recommendation from the superintendent.
