Southern Arizona Honor Flight returns to Tucson

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Twenty-three World War II and Korean War veterans returned from an unforgettable trip to Washington D.C., Monday night.

These Tucson area veterans got the chance to visit national memorials in their honor for free.

The veterans touched down Monday, May 14th, at the Tucson International Airport after their Honor Flight.

One of the veterans on the trip was Fred Bjorling.

He talked about the importance of remembering with people who shared similar experiences.

"It's a matter of sharing between individuals about these things in a way that makes sense. And it's not something just to put on a black board and forget about," Bjorling said.

Honor Flight Southern Arizona has taken more than 800 veterans on this trip of a lifetime.
