Defense wins Arizona spring game

Posted: Updated:

Jarrius Wallace intercepted two passes as the Wildcat defense scored 55 points off interceptions, fumbles, stops and forced field goals.

The defense beat the offense 55-46. Arizona's offense had a few highlights, including a second half drive where Khalil Tate threw a deep ball to Shawn Poindexter, then followed it up with a short fade route to the end zone for Poindexter.

After the game, Kevin Sumlin praised his linebackers and said Khalil Tate is a "dynamic player, but a work in progress." Sumlin added that he considers the whole team "a work in progress."
