Zoo 4 You: New baby alligators

Posted: Updated:

Some new arrivals at the Reid Park Zoo.

The Zoo is excited to announce the arrival of three new baby alligators.  Currently the alligators are at the Animal Health Center in quarantine.  Quarantine is a common practice that the zoo does with all new animals coming into the zoo.

It allows the staff to house them separately from the rest of the animals to insure that they are healthy and lets the staff slowly work with them to be comfortable in their new surroundings.

These Alligators will join the Animal Ambassador program and be part of a group of animals that come out to get up close to guests, to better connect them with wildlife.
