FBI: Fugitive arrested in Arizona with nearly 3,000 rounds, 7 guns and body armor

Posted: Updated:

EHRENBERG, Ariz.- La Paz County officials arrested a California man in Arizona last week after they found seven guns and nearly 3,000 rounds of ammunition inside a vehicle during a traffic stop.

Ryan Smith Hagel, 30, faces fugitive gun possession and misconduct charges stemming from a stop on I-10 near Ehrenberg, Arizona, an FBI release said.

Hagel, a passenger in the vehicle, had a handgun in his waistband and failed to report it to the deputies when he was stopped, leading to the weapons misconduct charges for him and the driver.

The FBI release said Hagel failed to appear for a court date in Maricopa County, leading to the arrest warrant.

The FBI is asking that anyone with information in Hagel's case reach out to its Phoenix Field Office at 623-466-1999.
