Local program encouraging sustainable living

Posted: Updated:

Tucson's Audubon Society's Habitat at Home program is encouraging Tucson residents to join their movement.

Habitat at Home focuses on sustainable living. Homeowners can help create beautiful landscapes and reduce their water bill at the same time.

Habitat helps plant native species of plants, which attract local wildlife, especially birds. The program even teaches you how to harvest your own natural water. Non-homeowners can even get in on the action. There are smaller ways to contribute, like installing a hummingbird feeder.

All of the sustainable living practices show residents how people, plants, birds, and other wildlife is connected.

The Audubon Society says any changes made, big or small, will have a positive impact on our local ecosystem.
