Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Two large Siberian huskies are being quarantined at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona after they viciously attacked several pets in Sahuarita on Monday.

Police tell News 4 Tucson, they received calls about dogs running loose in the neighborhood. When officers arrived, the dogs had attacked and killed two poodles and a cat.

They said, the Siberian huskies had jumped out of their backyard into other yards.

This happened in the area of Camino El Foso.

The owner of the huskies Demetrius Kavathas is being held responsible for the actions of his pets.

The dogs, a male and a female, were picked up by Sahuarita Animal Control and brought to Tucson.

Police said, the dogs had also attacked and injured another dog.

Lt. Matt McGlone of the Sahuarita Police Department said at this point he considered the dogs vicious.

However there will be an administrative hearing to look into whether the dogs will be considered vicious or not.
