TUCSON – Arizona Wildcats are out on spring break and ready for the traditional trips to Puerto Peñasco in Mexico.

The Arizona Department of Transportation worked with officials in the Mexican state of Sonora to ensure safer trips for everyone on the road during this time, according to the ADOT webpage.

The cross-border collaboration consisted of discussing strategies for quickly clearing incident scenes to avoid or reduce secondary crashes, and creating a safety corridor along the 63 miles of Mexico Route 8, which many Arizonans take from Lukeville.

Mexican law enforcement will also set up road signs with safety messages in English and Spanish along Mexico Route 8.

Spring Break for Pima Community College will start on March 12.
