Chimp becomes co-pilot on flight to sanctuary

Posted: Updated:

A pilot who rescues chimpanzees from poachers in the Congo had some help on his latest flight.

A baby chimp named Mussa was separated from his mother and was on his way to a sanctuary. Mussa climbed out of his basket, and into the lap of pilot Anthony Caere for the flight. Despite the new experience on the plane, the little chimp was just as happy to climb into the arms of a staff member at Viruga National Park.
