80s emerging in the forecast

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Sunshine and warmth to wrap the week.

This afternoon features highs in the mid 70s, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. These temperatures run 3-5° above average for early March standards. Lows overnight bottom out in the low to mid 40s across Metro Tucson.

Gusty southwest winds up to 20 MPH develop on Saturday. This is thanks to a cold front that passes through northern Arizona the second half of the weekend. By Sunday, highs only reach the mid 60s in the Old Pueblo.

The cool down will be short lived. High pressure regains control of the weather pattern much of next week, driving highs into the upper 70s to low 80s as early as Tuesday.
