Pedestrian hit by vehicle in midtown; avoid area

TUCSON (KVOA) -- Tucson police are on scene investigating a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in midtown early Tuesday morning.

According to TPD, the pedestrian was walking across Grant Road near Dodge Blvd. when the crash happened. It is not known if the pedestrian was in a crosswalk.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area. Grant Road eastbound near Haskell Drive is expected to shut down during rush hour.
