CRIME TRACKERS: Man arrested in Sahuarita for wife's 1988 homicide in Wisconsin

TUCSON - An Arizona man has been arrested in connection to a 1988 cold case out of Wisconsin.

Mark Bringe is now facing a first degree murder charge in the death of his wife Lorelei.

Authorities said  she was fatally shot 30-years ago.

Mark Bringe appeared  in Superior Court on Tuesday. He waved extradition to Wisconsin. He told the judge "I just want to get this over with."

The 70-year-old Bringe was in custody dressed in black and gray stripes which means he is in isolation.

According to Columbia County Sheriffs department in 2014 detectives reopened the case as a homicide investigation. Until then his wife Lorelei's death had been ruled a suicide.

Bringe was arrested at his son’s home outside of Sahuarita on Monday. Neighbors were shocked , they say this is a quiet area.

Francis Schill said he saw the Arizona Department of Public Safety car down the road, and had no idea about his neighbor.

"I'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around. Everybody has to answer for what they do at some point in time."

Detectives from Columbus County Sheriff's department were present in the courtroom.

They told the judge they would be taking the 70 year old Bringe back to Wisconsin by the end of the week.

Mark Bringe's adult children were also in the courtroom.

The court appointed attorney told the judge "They were surprised by the arrest and wanted the chance to talk with their father before he left Arizona." The judge granted the request.
