Chicks 'n' Chaps part of La Fiesta de Los Vaqueros

Chicks 'n' Chaps Rodeo Clinic, an effort to raise awareness about breast cancer, will be the highlight of the opening weekend of the 93rd Annual La Fiesta de Los Vaqueros / Tucson Rodeo.

Wear pink to Sunday's event to support breast cancer initiatives.

The rodeo opens Saturday and runs until Feb. 25 at 4823 S. Sixth Ave., at the northeast corner of Irvington Road and South Sixth Avenue. Parking at the main lot costs $7 per car. 

Gates open each day at 11 a.m. Performance days will end about 4:15 p.m., which is then followed by live entertainment at the Coors Barn Dance for those over 21.

Wednesday is the only day with no events.

Rodeo parade

The Tucson Rodeo Parade starts at 9 a.m. Feb. 22. It includes more than150 non-motorized floats and buggies, Mexican folk dancers and music. Click here for more information.

Other events at the rodeo include bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, team roping, bull riding and women’s barrel racing.

Ticket prices range from $15 to $32 and are available to purchase online or in person at the Tucson Rodeo Ticket Office.
