Sentences announced for 'rip crew' that targeted rival drug traffickers

Five men involved in a Tucson home invasion "rip crew" have been sentenced.

The rip crew would commit home invasions and steal drugs from rival drug traffickers, according to Attorney General Mark Brnovich's office.

The ringleader, 26-year-old Santos Jesus Rodriguez, will serve 12 years in prison.

James Johnson, 30, and 28-year old Gabriel Lopez will serve close to 11 years.

Luis Coronado, 34, will serve 6.5 years and Lonnie Rodriguez was sentenced to 40 days.

All 5 pleaded guilty to armed robbery, attempted sale of narcotics, money laundering and various other charges.

The rip crew was busted in an undercover sting operation.
