Firefighters meet flight into Tucson after mechanical issues

Posted: Updated:

Passengers on a United Airlines flight arriving in Tucson Thursday morning were met with fire trucks and rescue equipment.

At about 10 a.m., the pilot reported a mechanical issue as they were preparing to land at Tucson International Airport. The flight originated in Houston.

It landed safely, but as a precaution, airport fire personnel and Tucson firefighters met the aircraft.

Officials from Mesa Airlines, which operated the United flight, said they didn't receive any reports of mechanical issues.

About 60 people were on board.
