A Phoenix woman was arrested over the weekend after Border Patrol agents found more than 10 ounces of heroin hidden under her clothes, according to Customs and Border Protection.
It happened on Saturday at an immigration checkpoint on Interstate 19.
According to CBP, agents and a canine were conducting a secondary inspection search on the 29-year-old’s Nissan Sentra.
Agents said that’s when they found a brown bag of heroin hidden under the woman’s clothing.
The drugs are estimated to be worth about $7,800, according to CBP.
The woman was arrested and faces smuggling charges. Her vehicle and heroin were seized.
