UPDATE: Pima County Board declines to vote on World View probe

Posted: Updated:

The Pima County Board of Supervisors did not vote on whether to launch an investigation into the explosion of a World View balloon in December.

That’s because World View has been conducting its own investigation.

Neither the FAA nor the NTSB are investigating either because the balloon never left the ground.

The Pima County Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday on whether there should be an investigation into the explosion of a World View balloon in December.

The high-altitude balloon blew up at a launch site just south of the Tucson International Airport.

No injuries were reported but the blast did result in a loud booming sound heard in the area and a small fire on the balloon.

Aalia Shaheed will have a live report on News 4 Tucson at noon.

We'll have more on this story as it develops.
