Dry start to February

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Much needed rainfall remains missing from the forecast.

Highs this afternoon peak in the low 80s across much of Metro Tucson. According to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, highs today run 12-14° above average. Areas along and south of an Ajo-Tucson-Willcox line will see partly cloudy skies this afternoon, with more sunshine expected north of this line.

Overnight lows are expected to bottom out in the low to mid 40s for the lower elevations of eastern Pima County.

A strong dome of high pressure anchors off the California coast heading into Super Bowl weekend. This feature locks in daytime highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Ample sunshine prevails through the middle of next week.
