Winter-like temps MIA

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Above average temps to wrap up the year's first month.

High temperatures this afternoon peak in the mid 70s, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Much of Metro Tucson finishes the week with highs running 6-10° above average. Expect plenty of sunshine and light winds through the first half of the weekend.

Early next week will be dominated by a building dome of high pressure west of the state. The net result for the Sonoran Desert will be highs flirting with the 80° mark. Monday and Tuesday features high temperatures near record levels, running about 15° above normal. Gusty east winds may also develop.
