U of A baseball alumni game this Saturday at 10 a.m.

As Coach Jay Johnson and the Arizona Wildcat baseball team gear up for their first weekend of practice this weekend, here's something die-hard Zona fans can also look forward to: The U of A Baseball Alumni game.  Here's more from ArizonaAthletics.Com:

Some of the greatest players to wear cardinal and navy will return to Hi Corbett Field this weekend for the Baseball Alumni Scrimmage.
 
The scrimmage is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., with gates opening at 9 a.m. It is expected to go until noon, and is free and open to the public. Limited concessions will be available.
 
Former Wildcat legends Terry Francona and Chip Hale will serve as the managers. Francona, the Golden Spikes Award winner in 1980 and current manager of the Cleveland Indians, will lead the red team. Chip Hale, Arizona's all-time leader in games played and current bench coach for the Washington Nationals, will manage the blue team.
 
Rosters are subject to change before Saturday's first pitch, but below are the players expected to suit up. Among the former student-athletes expected to participate: Kurt Heyer (2012 College World Series champion, 3-time All-Pac-12 Selection, 2nd-team All-American), Jack Howell (11-year MLB career), Joel Estes (1986 College World Series Champion, 7th in Career Games Pitched at Arizona), Steve Strong (1986 National Champion, 1st-team All-Pac-12), George Arias (1st-team All-Pac-12) and several other former prominent Wildcats.

The Wildcats open official team practice Friday in preparation for the Feb. 16 season opener versus Bryant at Hi Corbett Field. Single-game tickets for the 2018 season are now available at www.arizonawildcats.com/BSB or by calling 621-CATS.
