Reports: Three Arizona football assistants won't be retained

Posted: Updated:

According to various reports, Arizona football will not retain three assistant coaches.

They include defensive line coach Vince Amey, safeties coach Jahmile Addae and new offensive line coach Garin Justice.

Justice had just been hired less than a month ago from Florida Atlantic by Rich Rodriguez. Fox Sports reports he will not be retained.

Rodriguez promoted Amey and Addae to on-field assistant roles in 2016.

New head football coach Kevin Sumlin has reportedly set only three positions: his two coordinator spots and running backs coach.

Noel Mazzone is expected to be named Arizona's offensive coordinator, while Sumlin confirmed Tuesday Marcel Yates will be retained as defensive coordinator. Clarence McKinney is reported to be Arizona's new running backs coach.
