A man died three days after being hit by a car on 12th Avenue near Drexel Road.

Oscar Hernandez, 62, was hit by a truck on Jan. 4 around 6 p.m., according to the Tucson Police Dept.

He was not in a crosswalk at the time, according to police.

He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he died on Jan. 7.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Speed was not a factor and no citations are being issued, according to police.

This is the first pedestrian death in 2018.
