Rain chance returns to the forecast

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - It's not much, but a stray shower may pop up overnight.

Increasing clouds are expected across Southern Arizona this afternoon, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Despite mostly cloudy skies, high temperatures peak in the mid 70s. Gusty east winds around 10-20 MPH are possible today.

Enough moisture moves in from Baja California overnight to trigger an isolated shower chance. While many places stay dry, there is a 10% chance of rain for Metro Tucson late tonight into early tomorrow. Favored areas for isolated showers include the mountains and International Border.

Cloud cover erodes quickly tomorrow as highs return to the mid 70s. Temperatures close in on the 80s to end the week as near record highs are possible Friday.
