Mobile home fire displaces family of 3

A family of three was displaced this morning, after their mobile home caught fire. It happened near the 4600 block of South Harrison Road.

It took 11 units and 24 firefighters to put the flames out, within 19 minutes.

A 12-year-old boy alerted his sleeping mother and uncle about the fire. They were evaluated on scene, but didn’t go to the hospital Firefighter did find one of the house cats dead and another is missing. Fire officials say there were no working fire alarms I the home.  The family will stay with relatives.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
