TUCSON - 2018 is picking up where last year left off.
High pressure over the Baja coast drives temperatures 10-12° above average. According to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, Metro Tucson peaks in the mid 70s the next few afternoon. Partly to mostly cloudy skies prevail through Wednesday, but more sunshine breaks out to wrap the work week.
Winter warmth reigns supreme Thursday and Friday. The Old Pueblo sees the mercury climb to the upper 70s. Near record highs are possible Friday.
Models are at odds over the weekend forecast. While the GFS model indicates a few showers Saturday night into Sunday morning, the European model keeps the Sonoran Desert dry. As it stands now, expect partly cloudy skies Saturday and Sunday with high temps in the low to mid 70s.
