Warm Winter pattern remains stuck

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Mother Nature knows no chill over the next 7 days.

The dominant weather feature through the middle of next week is a strong dome of high pressure over the Pacific coast. Daytime highs for much of the Sonoran Desert will run 10-15° above average for this time of year.

High temperatures range from the upper 70s this afternoon to the low 80s Friday & Saturday. Saturday's forecast high of 80° comes in two degrees shy of tying the record set back in 1917.

A few clouds may move in for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Highs for the first day of 2018 peak in the mid 70s under mostly sunny skies.

Overnight lows through the first few days of the new year bottom out in the low to mid 40s.
