Clouds now, 80s soon?

TUCSON - Winter warmth on repeat for the Sonoran Desert.

Despite partly to mostly cloudy skies, temperatures today run 10-15° above average. According to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, cloud cover starts to erode early this evening. Overnight lows bottom out in the low 40s for much of Metro Tucson.

High pressure over the Pacific coast slides toward Arizona over the next 48 hours. This supplies plenty of sunshine starting tomorrow & drives high temperatures into the low 80s Friday. Weekend temperatures decrease some, topping out in the mid to upper 70s.

Partly cloudy skies return to the forecast for New Year's Day as highs peak in the low 70s.
