Anchored in Tradition: Mooney's Merry Mac & Cheese

Ingredients

4 tablespoons butter

2  cups milk

3/4 teaspoon Kosher or Sea Salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups Shredded Sharp Chedder Cheese

8 oz Velveeta (cut in cubes)

1lb Box Elbow Macaroni

1/4 cup panko bread crumbs

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350.

In sauce pan melt butter.

Boil water and cook macaroni, drain and set aside.

Add milk, salt, pepper, flour. Bring to boil.

Stir in Chedder and Velveeta cheese and stir until melted.

Put macaroni in 2 quart baking pan and then add cheese sauce, mix well.

Cover and bake for 30 minutes. 

Remove from oven and uncover dish, spread bread crumbs on top, put back in oven uncovered and lightly brown under broiler.

Let cool for 10 minutes, then serve (6 servings)
