Cloudy, mild start to the week

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Above average temps, despite mostly cloudy skies.

Temperatures this afternoon reach the low 70s, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Daytime highs run 7-9° above average across Southern Arizona. A few sprinkles can't be ruled out to start the work week, but measurable rainfall is unlikely.

Clouds begin to decrease overnight as lows bottom out in the mid 40s for Metro Tucson.

Gusty east winds redevelop early tomorrow morning, courtesy of a storm system over Baja California. Breezes should be in the 15-25 MPH range much of Tuesday.

Less wind and more sun is on tap for the remainder of the work week, as high pressure regains control of the weather. Highs remain in the low to mid 70s, followed by nighttime lows in the mid to upper 40s.
