How low did temperatures go this morning?

TUCSON - As expected, portions of Metro Tucson woke up to its first freeze of the season.

Places like Marana, Picture Rocks, Sabino Canyon, Catalina and Tucson's east side saw temps dip at or below the 32° mark. Officially, Tucson International Airport bottomed out at 36°.

While the first official freeze of the season has yet to occur at the airport, this morning's 36° low is noteworthy. This was the first morning of the season with a low temperature at or below 40°, which is the latest 1st occurrence on record for Tucson.

In addition, this morning's low was below the seasonal average of 40°, marking the first below normal low in 58 days. This is the longest stretch between below average lows since the early 1970s.
