Highlights: Zona comes back to beat #7 Texas A & M

Posted: Updated:

Arizona overcame a two-point halftime deficit to beat #7 Texas A & M with a 67-64 victory. The Wildcats handed the Aggies their first loss of the season.

Here's more as-seen-on-KVOA News 4 Tucson:

Thousands of Arizona fans turned out to the game on a "neutral" court in downtown Phoenix at the Talking Stick Arena. It was the first game of the "Valley of the Sun Showcase" hosted by Grand Canyon University.

The game was tied with about 1:45 to play when Allonzo Trier hit Parker Jackson-Cartwright for a baseline 3-pointer to put the Wildcats up by three.

Texas A & M had a chance to tie the game up with under 10 seconds left, but, a travel by Tyler Davis ended the Aggies' hope to even things up (at that poing). Texas A & M's Duane Wilson was fouled with 2 seconds to play while shooting a three pointer.  Had he sunk all three free throws, it could have evened things up. However, he only made 2 of 3.

The Aggies trailed by 1 and fouled Dylan Smith, who sunk both free throws. A long range desperation three by the Aggies was off the mark. Arizona survives!
