UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal motorcycle crash

The man killed in Saturday's motorcycle crash has been identified.

Tucson Police say the motorcyclist was identified as 20-year-old Saxen Hurst. His next of kin has been notified.

The investigation is ongoing. 

TUCSON- The Tucson Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened Saturday evening on the southwest side.

Saturday, at approximately 7 p.m., TPD officers and the Tucson Fire Department (TFD) were dispatched to a report of a serious injury collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck near W. Silverlake Rd. and S. Cottonwood Ln.

According to TPD, an officer came across the collision moments after it happened and saw the motorcyclist lying unresponsive in the road.

The officer administered CPR until TFD arrived and took over.

Shortly after TFD arrived, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene.

Tucson Police Traffic Detectives were able to determine that a 2007 F-150 Pickup Truck was stopped at a stop sign facing northbound at Cottonwood Ln. and Silverlake Rd. At the same time, a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Silverlake Rd. in the curb lane. As the motorcycle approached Cottonwood Ln., the pickup truck pulled out onto Silverlake Rd. to make a westbound turn. The motorcyclist was not able to stop in time and collided with the truck. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. The driver of the truck remained on scene and had no signs of impairment. 

Detectives are investigating the crash. No citations or arrests have been made.

The name of the adult male motorcyclist is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
