UPDATE: The Tucson Police Department has a suspect in custody after a shooting early Saturday.
According to TPD Sgt. Pete Dugan, around 4:30 a.m., a woman called 911 saying she heard shots from inside her home on the 1500 block of E. Prince Rd.
The woman escaped from the home unharmed. She encountered officers outside and told them she and her brother live at the home.
Officers found a man with gunshot trauma inside the home. He was pronounced dead on scene. TPD has identified the victim as Jose Hurtado, 31. Hurtado is the brother of the woman who called 911.
Police did not find anyone else in the home.
As the investigation continued, the woman noticed her car had been stolen.
According to Dugan, investigators believe the woman's estranged husband, Jesus Harmon, 35, was involved in the shooting.
TPD began searching for him and the woman's car.
Oro Valley Police and the U.S. Marshals Service assisted in the search for Harmon. He was located at an Oro Valley residence.
Harmon is in Pima County Jail on charges of 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Burglary, Attempted 1st Degree Murder/DV, Kidnapping/DV and Prohibited Possessor.
The investigation is still ongoing and authorities are asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
