TUCSON - United States Border Patrol agents arrested an undocumented immigrant with a list of prior convictions just west of Nogales, Arizona on Thursday.
The undocumented immigrant was identified as 31-year-old Fernando Garcia-Loya, who has previously been deported.
Garcia-Loya, who illegally entered the country, was found by the agents assigned to the Nogales Station.
The agents found past convictions while looking at Garcia-Loya’s record that he had been charged with forcible sex abuse in 2009 in Utah, failure to register as a sex offender, and a conviction of re-entry of an undocumented immigrant in 2016.
Garcia-Loya is being held in federal custody awaiting prosecution for his criminal and immigration charges.
