PHOENIX - Four female Arizona lawmakers are calling for two other women they share the floor with to lose leadership roles because of alleged inappropriate relationships.

In a letter sent to House members Friday, the four Republican representatives urge the removal of Republican Rep. Michelle Ugenti-Rita and Democratic Rep. Rebecca Rios from leadership positions.

Rios is the minority leader of the House Democratic Caucus. Ugenti-Rita is the chair of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Democratic Rep. Ray Martinez recently accused Rios of having an inappropriate relationship with a House employee.

GOP Rep. Don Shooter accused Ugenti-Rita of pursuing an affair with a staffer after she accused him of sexual harassment.

An attorney for Rios says the letter was a political tactic.

An attorney for Ugenti-Rita declined to comment.
