Tucson Mayor Makes Proclamation For Nova Home Loans AZ Bowl

Mayor Jonathan Rothschild Encourages All Businesses to Let Their Employees Take Off the Afternoon to Attend the

NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl

Tucson, AZ – On Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 2pm, Jonathan Rothschild, Mayor of the City of Tucson, officially proclaimed December 26-29, 2017 as NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl Week. The proclamation encouraged all businesses to let their employees take the afternoon off on December 29, 2017 so they may join their friends and neighbors for pre-game activities at the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl.

Also, in the proclamation, the Mayor acknowledged that the bowl generated $20 million for Southern Arizona, $200,000 was donated to local charities, and that the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl has established a Heroes Tribute program, making it possible for active duty military, veterans, police officers, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, Border Patrol, paramedics, teachers, and underprivileged children to be able to enjoy this world-class athletics event free of charge. 

The series of celebrations for this year’s NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl will include a Downtown Block Party on December 28, and a Desert Diamond Casino Tailgate Festival on December 29th.

This year’s NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl will be broadcasted on CBS Sports and kick-off will take place on December 29 at 3:30 pm at Arizona Stadium, featuring representatives from the Mountain West and Sun Belt Conferences.

The proclamation was received by Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl Chairman, Ali Farhang and Executive Director for the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl, Alan Young.

The NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl will take place on Friday, December 29 at 3:30pm at Arizona Stadium and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

The NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl (a non-profit organization) was sanctioned in March 2015 as the 41st NCAA college football game and the third bowl game staged in Arizona. The NOVA® Home Loans Arizona Bowl is dedicated to promoting community engagement and support in the Tucson area and will include teams from the Mountain West Conference and the Sun Belt Conference.
