U of A community celebrates World Kindness Day

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON- The University of Arizona Police Department received handwritten notes and Kind Bars in celebration of World Kindness Day.

Sgt. Cindy Spasoff said there were enough notes for each UAPD employee.

“Sometimes things are kind of negative and there's so many things that are on the news and you get down a little bit about the world,” she said. “Then you get something that just kind of uplifts you, you know just the little random acts of kindness.”

Two U of A students dropped off the gifts.

Ciara Traynor and Emma Ayad are students who volunteer as Kind Ambassadors.

“We brought Kind snacks to a lot of the authorities on campus,” said Ayad. “One of them was our police station, the firehouse in Tucson and then our EMTs on campus.”

“I hope we made them feel happy and appreciated. The whole mission is to make sure that people know that being kind is awesome and so by us being kind to them, we hope that they pay it forward as well.”
