The University of Arizona has suspended assistant basketball coach Mark Phelps and senior forward Keanu Pinder, News 4 Tucson has learned from multiple sources.

Arizona Athletics confirmed the suspensions,  telling News 4 Tucson the University has suspended Phelps for five days without pay.

Phelps will miss Arizona's games against NAU and UMBC. Arizona Athletics also confirmed Pinder is suspended for the game against Northern Arizona Friday.

Arizona Athletics says the violation is unrelated to the ongoing federal investigation and Phelps will return to his coaching duties on Wednesday, November 15.
The team found out in a late meeting Thursday night, sources tell News 4 Tucson.

Phelps joined Miller's staff as an assistant coach in June 2015, and is the former head coach of Drake University.
Pinder joined Arizona last season from Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, after coming from Australia.
