Children’s Museum's Art after Dark to showcase local arts

Posted: Updated:

The Children’s Museum Tucson will highlight live theater at Art after Dark on Saturday.

Live Theatre Workshop will present “The Rootin’ Tootin’ Tale of Little Red Riding Boots,” and visitors can create a cowboy boot craft to take home.

The interactive art experience “Art in America,” through the ARTSmobile from Tucson Unified School District’s Fine Arts Department, will offer information on American art forms, such as jazz, tap, abstract expressionism, pop art and musical theater. Then children can make an abstract expressionist work of art.

The first 400 visitors who attend Art after Dark will receive a free pass for a return visit to the Museum.

The Museum, 200 S. Sixth Ave., will be open from 5:30-8 pm, with free admission.

The event is supported by the David and Lura Lovell Foundation, the Finley Family Foundation and Tucson Federal Credit Union. November’s program is sponsored by Pima Federal Credit Union.
