One-stop shop for out of state vehicle tax payments

Posted: Updated:

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicle Division is partnering with The Arizona Department of Revenue (DOR).

They plan to make it easier to pay city and state use taxes, for residents who buy vehicles out of state. Prior to this partnership, state tax was paid in an office at the time of vehicle registration. The Department of Revenue would send a “city tax due” statement, weeks later in the mail. Under the new system city and state taxes are calculated and paid, when the customer registers the vehicle.

Click here to use the Department of Revenue’s web-based calculator. This will determine the amount of tax and individual will pay at the time of registration.
