Sheriffs hold active shooter training

Posted: Updated:

Active shooters incidents are growing around the country. That’s why the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is putting on special training for schools and businesses.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defines active shooters as “an individual actively engaging in killing, or attempting to kill people in a populated area.” Anyone in that type of situation should follow the FBI’s model, “Run, Hide, Fight”.

Any school, or business should contact PCSD and sign up for their Active Shooter Preparedness Training. The training is free of charge.

You can sign up by contacting the Community Resources Unit at (520) 351-4615
