Glimmer of hope for a parched desert?

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Increasing clouds to start the work week. Could rain chances be on the way too?

High temperature this afternoon peak in the low 80s, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. A southwesterly flow aloft taps into moisture in the upper reaches of the atmosphere. As a result, cloud cover increases through the day. Expect mostly cloudy skies by tonight.

Enough moisture may be in play for an isolated shower or two for Southern Arizona tomorrow. Much of the area will remain mostly cloudy through Tuesday night. Highs Tuesday afternoon reach the upper 70s in the Old Pueblo, which is typical for this time of year.

Sunshine and the 80s make a return mid to late week, courtesy of high pressure sliding toward Mexico's west coast.
