Arizona blows out Chico State in final tune-up

Posted: Updated:

The Arizona Wildcats beat Chico State 91-53 in the team's final exhibition game before the Wildcats play Northern Arizona on Friday in a regular season game.

The Wildcats won big despite missing wing Rawle Alkins (broken foot), guard Dylan Smith (suspended - team rules) and guard Brandon Randolph (concussion). After the game, Wildcat head coach Sean Miller said Smith will still be unavailable Friday, while Randolph's status for the game is "uncertain." Alkins is out until at least December, while recovering from foot surgery.

Deandre Ayton played well again, scoring 21 points, picking up 11 rebounds and dishing three assists, all of which came from post trap double teams.

"I saw it coming from a mile away," said Ayton of Chico State's decision to post trap him.

Allonzo Trier led Arizona with 22 points.
