Shaun White reflects on losing in Sochi

Olympic gold medalist, Shaun White, is reflecting on his loss in Sochi ahead of the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

White won two gold medals in the men’s half-pipe both in 2006 and 2010.

However, he fell short of snagging any medal during the Sochi games four years later.

White said he is using the loss as a growing experience.

“I’m so thankful for Sochi, because it really taught me a lot about myself and about competition,” White said. “I’d never got to any Olympics and lost before.”

The snowboarder said it was an eye opening experience to be happy for someone else winning.

ICO bans 2 Russian athletes for life

The International Olympics Committee has banned cross-country skiers Alexander Legkov and Evgeniy Belov from the games for life after they violated anti-doping regulations.

This comes after an IOC investigation into widespread Russian doping in Sochi back in 2014.

In addition to the ban, Legkov has also been stripped of his gold and silver medals he won at the games.

Cases involving 26 additional athletes are still pending.
