Tucson Living: Raptor free flight

Posted: Updated:

The Raptor Free Flight show at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum started it's winter season on October 21 and runs daily through April 15.

gives guests the opportunity to see native birds act as they do in the wild but much closer than you usually see them. Free flight collections specialist, Amanda Timmerman says that they want their guests to have the emotional connection of seeing a wild animal up very close. Although the animals vary for a number of reasons, some of the birds you can see in the show include the great horned owl, chihuahuan raven, ferruginous hawk, barn owl, and grey hawk. The show has just added a crested caracara who is still in training.
