Posted: Updated:

TUCSON – For the first time in 4 years, the Old Pueblo failed to see measurable rainfall during the month of October.

According to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, this is only the 12th time on record where Tucson didn’t see rainfall during the month of October. 2017 will join the list including 2013, 1982, 1973, 1952, 1938, 1935, 1923, 1919, 1909, 1903 and 1898.

Weather record keeping at Tucson International Airport started in 1948. This October would mark only the 5th time in airport history where rainfall was not recorded.

Tucson’s average October rainfall is 0.89”.

With the dry weather comes the warmth. October 2017 is on pace to be the warmest ever recorded for Tucson, thanks to an average temperature of 77.6°.
