Record warmth returning?

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Breezes take a break this afternoon. Warmth will not.

Metro Tucson is slated to peak in the mid 90s today, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This afternoon's forecast high of 94° would fall a degree shy of tying the record set in 2014. Ample sunshine prevails across the Sonoran Desert.

Expect east-southeast winds up to 30 MPH through late morning, decreasing by the afternoon.

Tucson's average high for late October is in the low 80s. While temperatures stay above that mark through Halloween, highs will drop to the mid to upper 80s starting Friday. Nighttime lows bottom out in the mid to upper 50s for the foreseeable future.
