Taking the edge off the heat

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - After breaking an 84 year old temperature record yesterday, Autumn warmth starts to decrease.

Daytime highs peak in the low 90s this afternoon, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. These temperatures run roughly 10° above average, but will be shy of record territory. As high pressure begins to weaken over Reno, gusty east winds develop. Expect 15-25 MPH gusts during the daytime hours, decreasing slightly overnight.

The Sonoran Wind Machine turns off by lunchtime tomorrow.

Temperatures continue their slow decrease heading into the weekend. Under sunny skies, expect highs in the mid to upper 80s Friday through Monday. Nighttime lows bottom out in the mid to upper 50s during this timeframe.

Watch Jeff for a complete look at your 4WARN extended forecast today at noon. Follow Jeff's weather updates on FacebookTwitter and his blog.
