Friday Football Fever Wrapup: Week 9

Posted: Updated:

Welcome to Friday Football Fever week 9, teams are readying to make a playoff run as we had some strong games around Southern Arizona.

GAME OF THE WEEK

Cienega 56, Ironwood Ridge 55

In a crazy game that included a large lead by the Bobcats and an impressive comeback by the Nighthawks, Cienega came out on top in an excellent showing from two of Southern Arizona's top teams.

Salpointe 37, Catalina Foothills 7

Salpointe showed off some 4A Southern Arizona supremacy in a blowout win over a strong Catalina Foothills team. Both of these teams were in the 4A Final Four last season.

Marana 64, Desert View 16

The Tigers put up a huge total on offense behind Trenton Bourget and his group of impressive backs and receivers. Marana is a force to be reckoned with heading into playoff time.

Pusch Ridge 62, Catalina 0

Catalina had a hot start to the season but ran into a buzzsaw against the Lions. Pusch Ridge has to be the favorite to win the Class 3A state championship.

Sabino 42, Douglas 3

Sabino is also one of the top teams in Class 3A this season and continued its dominance over most of Southern Arizona with a 42-3 blowout over Douglas.

Poston Butte 59, Cholla 39

Cholla has had no trouble scoring points this season with star QB Jordan Porter, but they've struggled defensively. Poston Butte exploited that with a 59-39 win.

Tucson 43, Rincon 10

Tucson High needs some big wins to make some noise in Class 6A, and the Badger defense played strong against Rincon.
